In the light of the recent COVID-19 outbreak, the Center for Applied Mathematics of Mines ParisTech and the ETASP have decided to cancel the second edition of the International Summer School on Prospective Modeling and Energy Transition. We will be posting on this website any information regarding the 2021 edition of the Summer School.

The Summer School is aimed at advanced graduates (doctoral students) and post-doctoral students in prospective modeling, energy economics, engineering and mathematical sciences applied to energy and climate issues.

To apply :

  1. Click on the “Register Now” button and fill in the registration form
  2. Email the following documents to this address contact@groupes.cma.mines-paristech.fr using your first name and last name as the e-mail object:
  • Your CV (1 page)
  • A short covering letter (500 words maximum)

The application deadline is May 15, 2020.

Participation Fee

All successful applicants will be required to pay a participation fee of EUR 100 to secure their participation.

Accomodation and other expenses

Once your application has been accepted, you will have to choose one of the following options:

  • Option 1: EUR 550 including the participation fee, your accommodation in a studio flat at the Nemea Appart’Hotel Green Side Residence (7 nights),  your meals during the week (breakfasts and lunches), social activites and a bus pass ⚠ LIMITED NUMBER OF STUDIO FLATS AVAILABLE
  • Option 2: EUR 650 including the participation fee, your accommodation in a 1 bedroom flat at the Nemea Appart’Hotel Green Side Residence (7 nights),  your meals during the week (breakfasts and lunches), social activites and a bus pass
  • Option 3: EUR 200 (without accommodation) including the participation fee, covering your meals during the week (breakfasts and lunches), social activites and a bus pass

⚠ For those choosing option 1 and 2, a deposit of EUR 100 will need to be made when arriving at the Nemea Appart’Hotel Green Side Residence (cash and card accepted). It will be restituted to you at the end of your stay (if your room is clean and nothing is broken).

⚠ Please note that all diners during the week, except the social diner on Thursday night, will be at your charge.

Information on payment methods will be communicated to successful applicants once they have received confirmation of their acceptance at the Summer School.

Scholarship

You have the possiblity to apply for a scholarship for the Summer School.

The scholarship will cover the cost of your accommodation (booked by us at the Green Side Residence), your meals during the week (breakfasts and lunches), social activites and a bus pass.

⚠ You will still need to pay the particpation fee of EUR 100 to secure your participation

⚠ You will still need to pay a deposit of EUR 100 when arriving at the residence (see above)

⚠ The scholarship does not cover your travel costs

  • a letter justifying your scholarship request
  • a document from the organization you belong to stipulating that it cannot cover the expenses of  the Summer School

Summer School Regulations

Incomplete or late applications will not be considered.
All accepted applicants will be required to pay a participation fee (see above).
The Summer School will be taught in English.

Important dates

  • May 15, 2020: Deadline for applications
  • May 19, 2020: Latest notification of acceptance
  • May 21, 2020: Deadline for payment of participation fee

⚠ Please note that all applications will be studied as soon as they are received. This way, applicants can know early on if they have been accepted or not and can organize themselves accordingly. Therefore, do no hesitate to apply before May, 15 2020.
